Concept and Objectives

NeurodiVRse is designed to create an engaging environment where neurodivergent individuals can practice social interactions. The game challenges players to engage in conversations with virtual characters, exploring both scripted dialogue and AI-driven conversations. By providing different approaches to dialogue, the game helps players develop essential social skills in a safe, controlled environment.

Design Elements

The game’s design emphasises a blend of realism and creativity, using detailed environments and NPCs to foster immersive social experiences. Key features include:

  • Two dialogue systems: Scripted and AI-based (LLM) dialogues.
  • Dynamic group conversations with branching dialogue paths.
  • Immersive VR settings that replicate real-world social scenarios.

Programming and Implementation

NeurodiVRse leverages Unity’s XR Interaction Toolkit for VR functionality, ensuring smooth interactions and immersive gameplay. Key programming components include the dialogue management system that supports both scripted and AI-generated conversations, and a player interaction system that allows for dynamic group discussions. The game's modular design enables easy scaling and further development.
